“My visceral pull to Africa has gripped me since childhood; I’m finally able to answer that call.”
Charlotte is an American who has moved to Uganda to live and volunteer full-time in support of Valence’s mission to educate impoverished children and recruit volunteers from around the world.
While her colleagues have decided to “retire”, Charlotte has chosen to start another journey in Uganda. Her road to this present position has been through nursing school, journalism, police reporting, textbook authorship, medical massage, holistic medicine, work for the Vatican Library and a few stints camping across the U.S.
She is the organizational and administrative backbone of Hopeland Volunteers – and has no intention of retiring anytime soon.
